Contact Lens Fittings and Evaluations at Delaware Eye Surgeons
Contact lenses are medical devices that correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism based on each patient’s visual needs. Because contact lenses come in many different materials and designs, one type of contact lens may not be appropriate for all eyes. Delaware Eye Surgeons offers contact lens fittings and evaluations for patients seeking the most comfortable lenses that will provide the best possible vision throughout the day.
At Delaware Eye Surgeons we fit the following types of soft contact lenses:
- Daily disposables
- Two-week, one-month and three-month disposables
- Colored lenses
- Toric lenses for astigmatism
- Monovision lenses – one lens for distance vision and one lens for near vision
- Multifocal lenses that simultaneously correct near and distance vision
- Cosmetic lenses for irregularities
- Novacone (for fitting Keratoconus & Irregular Corneas)
We do not stock supplies of lenses, only trials. Disposable lenses that are in stock are delivered within one to two days from our supplier. Special order lenses may take one to two weeks to receive.
We also offer the following types of Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses (RGPs):
- Distance lenses
- Monovision lenses
- Multifocal lenses
- Irregular astigmatism and keratoconus
- Post-corneal surgery or injury
If you are a current contact lens wearer, please bring in the information of what you are wearing and we would be happy to evaluate your lenses to make sure they are the best fit and provide the best correction for you. If you are new to contact lenses, we will train you on how to insert, remove and care for your lenses. Separate fitting and evaluation fees apply. The FDA has deemed contact lenses as medical devices and requires the lenses to be evaluated yearly in order to obtain a prescription.
Please contact our practice at (302) 993-1300 or use our online appointment request form to schedule your lens fitting evaluation.
